Prince Charles visits Al-Karaouine Library in Fes

HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, visited Wednesday the ancient library of Al-Karaouine in Fes. Upon his arrival, Prince Charles was received by Regional Director of  Morocco‘s Culture Ministry in Fes and the curator of the Al Karaouine Library, before touring the various rooms of the facility, including the Assaadiyine dome where manuscripts are exhibited.

On this occasion, Prince Charles met four students at Al-Karaouine scientific chairs who will benefit from scholarships granted by the British government.
He also met Al-Karaouine’s Ulema (religious scholars) as well as the British cultural centre’s director in Morocco.

Marrakech Climate and Weather

The weather in Marrakech is sunny nearly all year round, with pleasantly warm summers and mild winters. The hottest months in Marrakech of the year are July, August and September, but there is no humidity so temperatures are generally bearable. Winter in Marrakech can bring heavy downpours of rain, which leave the streets of the old town very muddy, and winter nights can be cold.

Taarabt: Hoops will bounce back

QPR skipper Adel Taarabt is refusing to press the panic button despite the back-to-back defeats which have halted their title charge.

Rangers were on a 19-match unbeaten run until Watford arrived at Loftus Road a week and a half ago, and they followed up that 3-1 defeat with a 2-0 reverse at Leeds on Saturday.

But Morocco star Taarabt said: « At the start of the season, if people told us we wouldn’t lose in the first 19 games, then we would have taken that.

UK snow: passengers face further misery as more snow sweeps Britain

Thousands of air and rail passengers face further travel misery today as operators struggle to get back on track amid further snow and freezing weather.

After days of disruption with travellers sleeping at airport terminals and railway stations, most services are expected to get moving again.

However, although Heathrow Airport’s second runway reopened last night, only two-thirds of flights are expected to run today.
