Now, fly to Marrakech on British Airways

As announced last November, British Airways started flights to Marrakech in Morocco, from London Gatwick on March 27, 2011.

The new flights are in direct competition with the low-cost carriers and are a great alternative to discerning travelers to Morocco, the airline said in a statement.

Prince Charles visits Al-Karaouine Library in Fes

HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, visited Wednesday the ancient library of Al-Karaouine in Fes. Upon his arrival, Prince Charles was received by Regional Director of  Morocco‘s Culture Ministry in Fes and the curator of the Al Karaouine Library, before touring the various rooms of the facility, including the Assaadiyine dome where manuscripts are exhibited.

On this occasion, Prince Charles met four students at Al-Karaouine scientific chairs who will benefit from scholarships granted by the British government.
He also met Al-Karaouine’s Ulema (religious scholars) as well as the British cultural centre’s director in Morocco.

The old town in Fez is steeped in history – from its walled citadel to the oldest surviving university in the world. It has recently been named a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Morocco targets one million Spanish tourists

Morroco strives to attract one million Spanish toursist in 2013, Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) chief Abdelhamid Addou said Wednesday (January 19th) at an international tourism fair in Madrid. The kingdom hosted nearly 750,000 Spanish tourists last year, marking an increase of 11% over 2009.
